Marketing Status Audit

A structured review of where your marketing actually stands today, ending in a written, prioritised list of what to address first.

What you need to know first

What problem does this solve?
Marketing decisions are being made without an agreed picture of the current position. Channels have accumulated rather than been chosen, the public and technical presence has never been reviewed as a whole, and it is unclear which of the available measurements can be trusted — so every proposal sounds equally plausible and nothing can be prioritised with confidence.
What exactly do I receive?
A written audit of the current state across channels, positioning, technical and public presence, and measurement, with findings and a prioritised improvement list explaining what to address first and why. It is a decision-making document you own and can act on with us, with someone else, or not at all.
How is it priced?
Fixed fee, quoted on enquiryThe fee is quoted for your requirement, because scope, systems and complexity differ in every case. This service is priced as a single fixed fee for the scope described here — its method and deliverable are defined, so it does not need to be quoted by the hour. A published figure is not shown because no figure has been approved for publication yet; the fee is confirmed in writing before any work begins.
How long does it generally take?
Typically 2 to 3 weeksAn estimate for the scope described, measured from the point the requested access and information are available. It is not a committed date.
What happens next?
Send an enquiry describing the requirement. We confirm the scope, the fee and the timescale in writing before any work begins. An enquiry is not an order: an engagement becomes binding only when it is expressly accepted, as set out in the Terms of Service.

Deliverables

  • Written audit report covering current channels, positioning, technical and public presence, and measurement
  • Prioritised improvement list, with the reasoning for the order
  • An explicit record of anything that could not be assessed, and why

Included

  • Review of the marketing channels currently in use and their current state
  • Review of how the business is positioned and described publicly
  • Technical and public-presence review of the primary website: crawlability, indexability, metadata, structure and whether content is readable without JavaScript
  • Review of what is being measured and whether the measurement is reliable
  • Prioritised findings with reasoning

Not included

Stating the boundary is part of the offer. Anything here can usually be arranged separately.

  • Implementation of any recommendation
  • Content production, campaign setup or advertising management
  • Advertising or media spend
  • Website development, hosting or maintenance
  • A guarantee of any ranking, traffic, reach or revenue outcome

Customer prerequisites

  • An existing marketing presence to review — at minimum a live website
  • A named person who can answer questions about current activity and decisions

Information and access we need

We will ask for these. Where the work needs access to a system, access is arranged and scoped with you rather than assumed.

  • The website address and any other public channels in scope
  • Read-only access to the analytics and search-console properties you already have, where you want them included
  • A list of the marketing tools and platforms currently in use
  • Any existing positioning, brand or strategy material you consider current

Expected process

  1. Enquiry

You describe the situation and what you are trying to decide. We confirm whether this assessment is the right starting point.

  2. Written scope

You receive the scope, the fee and the indicative timescale in writing. Nothing begins until it is agreed.

  3. Inputs and access

We request the specific information and read-only access listed on this page. Anything unavailable is recorded as a limitation rather than guessed.

  4. Analysis

The work itself, against a defined method rather than an ad-hoc look.

  5. Delivery

You receive the written output, including prioritised findings and what we would and would not do next.

Meetings, revisions and scope

Meetings
Meeting optional, at the delivery review (about 60 minutes)
Revisions
1 revision included. One round of corrections and clarifications to the written audit. It covers factual accuracy and clarity, not re-scoping the review.
Scope
Deliverables are limited to those expressly included in the agreed scope. Additional revisions, meetings, research or services outside that scope may require additional fees — see the Marketing Services Terms.

Frequently asked questions about this service

What is a Marketing Status Audit?

A structured review of where your marketing actually stands: the channels in use and their current state, how the business is positioned and described, the technical and public-facing presence, what is being measured and whether the measurement can be trusted.

The output is a written audit with findings and a prioritised list of what to address first and why. It is a decision-making document, not an implementation — it deliberately produces a plan you could hand to someone else.
