AI SEO / GEO Audit

A technical and editorial review of whether your public content can actually be crawled, parsed and understood by search engines and AI answering systems.

What you need to know first

What problem does this solve?
Content is published but its discoverability has never been examined at the technical level. Nobody knows whether pages return substantive HTML without JavaScript, whether each page has one correct canonical URL, whether the structured data matches what is visible, or whether different pages contradict each other — so search and AI visibility is being guessed at.
What exactly do I receive?
A written audit of the technical and editorial conditions that determine whether your content can be read and understood by search engines and AI answering systems, with specific, located, prioritised findings — not a generic checklist.
How is it priced?
Fixed fee, quoted on enquiryThe fee is quoted for your requirement, because scope, systems and complexity differ in every case.Priced as a single fixed fee for the scope described here. No figure is published yet; the fee is confirmed in writing before any work begins and is based on the number of page templates in scope rather than the number of pages.
How long does it generally take?
Typically 2 weeksIndicative, from the point the site and any requested read-only analytics access are available.
What happens next?
Send an enquiry describing the requirement. We confirm the scope, the fee and the timescale in writing before any work begins. An enquiry is not an order: an engagement becomes binding only when it is expressly accepted, as set out in the Terms of Service.

Deliverables

  • Written audit of crawlability, indexability and machine readability
  • Per-template findings with the specific URLs and the specific problem
  • A prioritised remediation list, separating what materially matters from what is cosmetic
  • An explicit list of anything that could not be checked, and why

Included

  • Raw-HTTP review: what a crawler receives without executing JavaScript
  • Status codes, redirects and canonical correctness, including host and trailing-slash consistency
  • Title, description, heading structure and robots directives, including agreement between page source and server headers
  • Structured data: validity, and whether it reflects content that is actually visible
  • Internal linking and content duplication or contradiction between pages
  • robots.txt and sitemap review
  • Prioritised findings

Not included

Stating the boundary is part of the offer. Anything here can usually be arranged separately.

  • Implementation of any finding — that is the separate AI SEO / GEO Implementation service
  • Content writing or rewriting
  • Link acquisition of any kind
  • Any guarantee of a ranking position, of traffic, or of appearing in an AI-generated answer
  • Any claim to influence how a search engine or AI system selects or cites sources

Customer prerequisites

  • A live, publicly reachable website
  • A person who can confirm which page templates and sections are in scope

Information and access we need

We will ask for these. Where the work needs access to a system, access is arranged and scoped with you rather than assumed.

  • The site address and the page templates or sections in scope
  • Read-only access to existing search-console and analytics properties, where you want them included
  • Details of any staging environment, if findings should be validated there
  • Any known constraints: a platform that cannot be changed, or a release process to work within

Expected process

  1. Enquiry

You describe the situation and what you are trying to decide. We confirm whether this assessment is the right starting point.

  2. Written scope

You receive the scope, the fee and the indicative timescale in writing. Nothing begins until it is agreed.

  3. Inputs and access

We request the specific information and read-only access listed on this page. Anything unavailable is recorded as a limitation rather than guessed.

  4. Analysis

The work itself, against a defined method rather than an ad-hoc look.

  5. Delivery

You receive the written output, including prioritised findings and what we would and would not do next.

Meetings, revisions and scope

Meetings
Meeting optional, at the delivery review (about 60 minutes)
Revisions
1 revision included. One round of clarification and correction to the written audit.
Scope
Deliverables are limited to those expressly included in the agreed scope. Additional revisions, meetings, research or services outside that scope may require additional fees — see the Marketing Services Terms.

Frequently asked questions about this service

What is AI SEO / GEO?

GEO — generative engine optimisation — is the practice of making public content readable, unambiguous and well-structured for AI systems that summarise and answer questions, alongside conventional search engines.

In practice that means the same disciplines that have always mattered, applied deliberately:

  • content that answers a real question directly, in language a machine can parse without guessing
  • a clean, crawlable technical surface: correct status codes, one canonical URL per page, substantive HTML rather than an empty shell that only renders after JavaScript
  • structured data that reflects what is actually on the page
  • internal linking that makes the relationship between pages explicit
  • removing contradictions between what different pages claim

None of that is a mechanism for being cited. It removes the reasons a system would skip or misread your content.

Can you guarantee Google rankings?

No.

Search engines independently determine crawling, indexing, ranking, snippets, AI summaries and local results. SEO work is intended to improve relevant technical, content, authority and discoverability signals, but it cannot guarantee a specific ranking — this is stated in the Marketing Services Terms, which also record that rankings, traffic and impressions are not guaranteed.

Anyone guaranteeing a position is either buying ads, targeting a phrase nobody searches for, or not telling you the truth.

Can you guarantee inclusion in AI-generated answers?

No.

Whether an AI system retrieves, quotes or cites a page is decided by that system, using models and retrieval rules that change without notice and are not published. There is no submission process and no guarantee to give.

What the work does is remove the technical and editorial reasons a system would ignore or misread your content: thin or JavaScript-only pages, duplicate and contradictory copy, missing or false structured data, broken canonicals, and claims that cannot be substantiated.
